A very Happy and Prosperous New Year to all and “Gong Xi Fa Cai” to our celebrating members. The Club – and Hop Sing Restaurant in particular – is open during the Lunar New Year holidays with excellent value packages specially put together for Reunion and New Year celebrations for the enjoyment of your family, friends and loved ones. Do take full advantage of these specially designed Leap Year promotions, which really are of excellent value.

Throughout the past year, golfing members would have witnessed the on-going remodeling exercise of the golf course. I am happy to announce that despite adverse weather conditions we are within the scheduled completion target. We now have opened up the first four new holes for golfers to get the “feel” of this picturesque new course. Members can expect a much improved and challenging 18 – holes golf course when fully completed by mid this year. Further cheer for golfers – for the first time night golfing (9 holes) will be made available during the course of the year.

At the club level, we have also embarked on some major restoration works, which among others include the refurbishment of the swimming pool and a new coat of paint for the entire resort premises.

Lastly, thank you for your continued support, which we dearly value and look forward to even greater patronage. The consideration and understanding of the golfing fraternity for the inconvenience experienced during the remodelling exercise is very much appreciated.

The year has passed all too swiftly and sadly not many golfing events couldbe held due to the ongoing remodeling of the golf course. But the good news is that the golf course remodeling exercise is now towards the completion stages and Members and Guests can look forward to playing the newly improved and testing course layout designed by renowned golf architect Ronald Fream.

To kick off the new year, we have opened up four new holes for all to get a
‘feel’ of the new course design and layout but do keep the buggies on track
to allow for better turf establishment of these fairways. At the same time, please be reminded again to replace divots, repair ball-marks and rake the bunkers while on the golf coruse.

The Club has scheduled a list of golf tournaments throughout the coming year and all members are encouraged to participate. Some of the notable golfing tournaments will includethe ever-popular Carlsberg Classic, the Captain’s Trophy, the Club Championship and the evergreen PFB Golf Classic. I am sure the golfing year ahead will generate much excitementamong the golfers.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all members for their understanding and cooperation during the golf course remodeling works which i am sure will bewell received by all our members.
